How to read this table like a Nigerian buyer
The NGN column is a global reference price converted to naira. It is the right number for tracking value. It is not the number you will pay.
Divide the NGN price by the USD price for any coin and you get the implied naira-dollar rate behind this table. Compare that with what a P2P merchant is actually quoting you and the difference is the spread you are paying to convert naira into dollars — which, for most Nigerian users, is the largest single cost of the whole transaction, far larger than any exchange's 0.1% trading fee.
The habit worth building. Before you accept a P2P offer, check the implied rate here. If a merchant is 3% away from it on a stablecoin, you are giving up more in one trade than a year of trading fees would cost you. Our P2P rates page explains what a normal spread looks like.
Why these twenty
This list is not the global top twenty by market capitalisation. It is the set that actually appears in Nigerian order books and P2P listings with enough depth to trade. USDT sits first in practice even though it is not first by market cap, because for most Nigerian users the whole point of the exercise is to hold a dollar balance. Stablecoins, the major layer ones, and the few altcoins with real local following.
If a coin you are looking for is missing, that is usually a signal rather than an omission: thin local liquidity means a wide spread and a hard exit. See best crypto to buy in Nigeria for how we think about that.
The stablecoin sanity check
Look at the USDT and USDC rows. Their dollar price should be within a fraction of a cent of $1.00. If one of them is meaningfully off — say $0.97 — that is not a bargain, it is a warning that the market doubts the backing. A stablecoin trading below its peg has historically been the first visible symptom of a serious problem, and the Terra collapse is the reason Nigerians should take that signal seriously rather than treating it as a discount.

How this tool gets its numbers
crypto.net.ng serves static pages — there is no server doing calculations for you. This tool reads a public market-data API directly from your browser and renders the result on your device. Three consequences worth knowing:
- Nothing you type is sent to us. Amounts you enter stay in your browser.
- An ad-blocker or a network block can stop it. If the numbers do not appear, that is usually why. The page tells you rather than showing a blank space.
- A market reference rate is not a P2P quote. This is the single most important thing to understand about any naira crypto tool — see Nigerian P2P rates for why the two differ and by how much.
Frequently asked questions
What is the price of Bitcoin in naira today?
The live figure is in the table at the top of this page, refreshed each time you load it. Bear in mind it is a global reference price converted to naira — a Nigerian P2P merchant will quote you a few percent away from it in either direction.
Why is the naira price here different from what my exchange shows?
Because they are measuring different things. This is a global volume-weighted reference converted at market rates. Your exchange shows either its own order book or a P2P merchant's offer, both of which include a spread. On stablecoins that spread is typically 1–3% in Nigeria.
How often do these prices update?
Every time the page loads. There is no background polling — reload the page for a fresh figure.
Is USDT always exactly ₦1,600?
No. USDT tracks the US dollar, so its naira price moves with the naira-dollar rate. Watch its dollar price instead: that should stay within a fraction of a cent of $1.00, and a sustained deviation is a warning sign rather than an opportunity.
Do you store the amounts I enter on your tools?
No. These tools run entirely in your browser and read a public price API directly. Nothing you type is transmitted to us.
